BATTERY POWERED BRASS

This is your sign to incorporate a light piece into your home for a warm glow without the hassle of hardwiring. I found this stunning Moroccan brass piece through Alexandra at El Consulado Shop. Alexandra discovered an artisan by the name of Boujamaad in Marrakech’s Haddadine souk. His handmade piece was exactly what I was looking for to add extra lighting to our space — a truly special brass piece with all the natural imperfections that make artisan work so unique.I sourced rechargeable under cabinet lights on Amazon that were the perfect size to sit inside the brass box. Using small magnets, I mounted them inside the sconce where they attach securely yet are super easy to pop out when it’s time to recharge.

The result is a warm, ambient glow that looks like it’s wired directly into the wall, but all it takes is a quick recharge every now and then. It’s the perfect way to add a touch of your travels or a unique online find that supports artisans around the world — especially in a space like an apartment where electrical wiring isn’t an option. It’s a little hack that combines the individuality I love in a space with practical, beautiful design. Everybody who comes to visit is in awe of the piece, so I had to share with you all. I’d love to see if you do something similar in your home! ☺️
